John D. "Jack" Grueser
Utica - Calling hours for John D. "Jack" Grueser, 70 of Utica, will be 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Emory officiating.
Jack died April 9, 2013 at Selma Markowitz Care Center, Newark. He was born April 29, 1942, in Meigs County, Ohio to the late David T. and Thelma M. (Roush) Grueser.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Utica. His children and grandchildren were his life. Jack started his working career in building and drywall and finished as an over-the-road truck driver.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda L. (Qualls) Grueser of Utica, daughter, Sheila Kay Scott of Newark, two grandchildren, Micki Emory of Newark, Jeremiah Emory of Alma, GA, six great-grandchildren, brothers and sister-in-law, Jim and Barbara Grueser of Murrysville, PA, Glenn Grueser of Pomeroy, sisters and brother-in-law, Donna Hogue of Darlington, PA, Charlotte Emery of New Castle, PA, Linda Hudson of Pomeroy, Melanie and Jacob Holman of Racine, and special family friends, Mark VanWinkle of Newark, Isabel Alverado of Alma, GA, Steven Morrow of Newark and Patricia Ohde of Utica.
He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Keith Grueser, sisters, Betty Russell, Gerri Halley and Virginia Foster.
