John Allen Haywood

A memorial service for John Allen Haywood, 56, of Utica will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Pastor Jason Harding officiating. Burial will be in Homer Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Haywood passed away on June 4, 2016. He was born on December 3, 1959 in Mt. Vernon to John W. and Vera Jane (Garisch) Haywood.
Allen was a former road and cemetery supervisor for Burlington Township.
He is survived by his significant other, Mary Jo Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Anthony Smith of Utica; mother, Vera Hunter of Brandon; brothers and sister-in-law, Mark Haywood and Jim and Caroline Haywood both of Mt. Vernon; sister, Kate Posey of Mt. Vernon; granddaughter, Aleena Smith; step-granddaughter, Victoria Lannan; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, John W. Haywood; brother, Robert Haywood; sister, Mary Ellen (Haywood) Dowalter; grandmother, Elizabeth Looker; and step-father, Milton C. Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Vernon Church of God, 13160 Henry Rd., Mt. Vernon, OH, 43050.
