A graveside service for John F. Yoakam, Jr., 68 of Homer, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Homer Cemetery with Rev. Marvin Haught officiating.
John passed away May 25, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born November 2, 1949 in Mount Vernon to the late John F. and Vera M. (Clements) Yoakam, Sr.
John owned Franklin's Body Shop and enjoyed working on classic cars, fishing and drag racing. He volunteered for 18 years for the Homer Fire Department.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Marcina Bash of Homer; sister Keitha Bash and step-father, Norman E. Bash, both of Mount Vernon; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Yoakam, Sr. and Vera M. Bash and paternal grandparents, Walter and Lucille Yoakam.
