A funeral service for Julia M. Tharp, 93 of Utica will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Pastors Andy Beatty and Ben McKinstry. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the funeral home.

Julia passed away on December 2, 2023 at Johnstown Pointe after recovering from a fall. She was born on June 18, 1930 in Utica to the late Isaac Newton and Mary Martha (Good) Earlewine.

Julia graduated in 1948 from Washington High School (Utica) with 48 classmates. She was very proud of being a lifelong Utica resident. She married Warren E. Tharp on Sept. 4, 1948 in Greenup, KY. In 1967 she started working in the cafeteria for North Fork School before retiring from the JVS (CTech) in 1997.

She is survived by her children, Donna Kreager, Jeff (Belinda) Tharp, Mary Ann (John) Morris and Joe (Vicki) Tharp; grandchildren, Konnie (Tom) Warth, Stacy (Jodi) Kreager, Eugene Kreager, Scott Tharp and Laura Tharp; great-grandchildren, Quinten (Payton) Nelson, Kamden (Laney) Kreager, Kellia Kreager, Bryce Kreager and Cody Kreager; great-great-grandchildren, Creed Nelson, Finley Nelson and Wrenley Kreager; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Tharp who passed away on December 11, 2006; brother, Bill (Christine) Earlewine; sisters, Betty (Bob) Ryan and Carolyn (Jere) Harrah.
