Lester A. Abbott, 90, of Utica passed away July 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1928 in Dog Hollow, Washington Township to the late John P. and Ella (Popham) Abbott.

Per Les' request there will be no public service. He will be buried in Eden Cemetery.

Lester was an Army veteran and served in World War II. He was a life member of Post 92, American Legion, Utica, a life member of Newark Bowling Association and past president from 1988-1989. Lester retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1983 after 32 years of service and was a member of Kaiser retirees club.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey (Amy) Abbott of Panama City, FL, Michael (Liz) Abbott of Chesapeake, VA; two grandsons, Conner and Mason Abbott; one brother, James Abbott of Newark; one step-son, Everett (Josie) Jacks of Newark; four step-daughters, Joyce Finley of Newark, Margaret (Joe) Heckman of Johnstown, Holly (Rodney) Hoskinson of Newark, Kimberly Jacks of Utica; twelve step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Abbott, step-daughter, Penny Jacks Long; step-grandson, Nathan Dunn; brothers, William, Rolla, Thomas and Richard Abbott; sisters, Evelyn, Mary Bell, Martha Abbott and Margery Martin.
