Lonnie L. Higgins, Sr.

Lonnie L. Higgins, Sr., 74 of Mount Vernon went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 27, 2017.

He was born March 11, 1943 in Homer to the late Chester C. and Ida (Rathburn) Higgins.

Lonnie was a long time member of Milford Church of Christ. He was a journeyman wireman with IBEW, Local #688 in Mansfield for 40 years. Lonnie farmed, was a member of the National Guard and was generous in helping people. He felt we are put on this earth to help others – and that is exactly what he did, helped others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy K. (Clippinger) Higgins; son Lonnie L. Higgins, Jr. of Mount Vernon; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Ron Jones of Fresno, OH; four grandchildren, Shelby Holbert, Loni (Devon) Ash, and Logan Higgins, Kasey Jones; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Vicki Higgins; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Don Dalrymple, all of Mount Vernon; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his dog, Buddy

He is preceded in death by his sister, Jane Kennedy, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken A. Clippinger, Kaye E. Clippinger.

Per Lonnie's request there will be no services. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
