Mae Eloise Dietzel

A funeral service for Mae Eloise Dietzel, 87 of Croton will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Liberty United Methodist Church, 3375 Dutch Lane Rd., Johnstown with Pastor Chris Tullos of Gospel Light Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Township Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will be provided by the church immediately following the burial.

Mae Eloise Dietzel passed away on November 22, 2017. She was born in Fredonia on May 8, 1930 to the late Wilfred and Carrie (Shaffer) Ellas.

Eloise graduated in 1948 from Granville High School and was a lifelong member of Liberty United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, Nursery teacher and many years as President of the United Methodist Women.

Eloise was a devoted mother to her 5 children, Nancy (Dean) Runyon of Johnstown, Sandy Hubbard of Centerburg, Susie (Paul) Robertson of Granville, Brenda (Jeff) Edler of Delaware and Bill (Gidget) Dietzel of Croton.   She is survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, 3 sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Eloise is preceded in death by her husband, William Dietzel, Sr whom she marred on October 10, 1948, brothers, Norman and Allen Ellas and sister, Marjorie Dixon.
