A funeral service for Margery A. Snavely, 76 of Utica will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 3:00-7:00 pm., Thursday, November 30, 20017 at the funeral home.

Margery passed away November 26, 2017. She was born in Mount Vernon, June 8, 1941 to the late Ira and Phyllis (Perkins) Coss. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1959.

She started her working career as a carhop at A & W Root Beer stand and Clippy's Drive-In Restaurant, was a sewing machine operator at Edmont-Wilson Glove Factory and worked the jewelry counter at the HARTS store, all in Mount Vernon.

She retired in 2004 from a Big Bear store in Westerville, having spend 21 years with the Penn Traffic Company. She and her family were avid motorcycle riders.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie (Eric) Frye of Mount Vernon, Martha Jane (Jeff) Snavely of Millersport; step-sons, Garry (Debra), Richard (Vicki), Donald L. (Karen) Snavely, all of Utica; 2 grandchildren,10 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Judy (Ralph) Honaker; Amy Snavely of Orlando, FL; brother-in-law, David Snavely of Bucyrus; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Donald E. (Pappy) Snavely who passed away March 6, 2011; parents, Ira and Marie Coss and Phyllis and Bill Tomlinson; her 6 year old son, Jeffrey C. Holmes; brother, Jack A. Coss; grandparents, Hobart and Alta Coss and Beulah Perkins (Luke) Beckett, step-sister, Nancy Lewis McCoy; 3 step-brothers, Robert, Richard and James Lewis; brothers-in-law, Homer, Bill, Eugene and John Snavely; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Williams, Veda Guigin and Mary Cobb.
