Marlene A. Gilbreath
Utica - Per her wishes there will be no public service for Marlene A. Gilbreath, 78 of Utica, who died November 21, 2013 at her residence.
She was born March 15, 1935, in Walhonding to the late Maurice K, and Maxine F. (Cummings) Allen.
In her early years she was employed by the F. W. Woolworth, S. S. Kresge and W. T. Grant stores in Newark and the J. J. Newberry store in Coshocton. Later on she worked in Utica at the Village Inn, Vance Hotel Restaurant and Ritchey's.
Marlene was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 92, Utica and Past 40&8. She was a 45 year member of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Jack Ransom of Utica with whom she made her home; sons, Scott Gilbreath of Utica, James Lee Gilbreath of Conneaut; grandchildren, Melissa Ludwig, Wendy Elliot both of Utica, Jackie Young, Felicia Eckstein and Derek Eckstein all of Idaho, Faye Wood of Montana, Kyle Hunt of Willoughby, Mark Flowers II of Homer, Meagan Myers of Coshocton, Autumn Myers of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Dillion Trout of Ft. Eustus, Virginia; 10 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Patricia Allen of Newark, David and Linda Allen of St. Louisville, Mark and Cheryl Allen of Columbus, Aunt Patti Vantu of Mount Vernon, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Gilbreath; grandson, Michal Andrik Gilbreath, sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Ron Wright, daughter-in-law, Michele Gilbreath, many aunts and uncles.
