Mary passed away August 27, 2018 at Country Court Nursing Home, Mount Vernon. She was born May 29, 1916 in Newark to the late Ralph and Ann (Ault) White.

She was a long-time member of the Newark Seventh-day Adventist Church where for years she was active in their downtown community services program. As a young adult, Mary worked for Corning Glass. When her husband passed away in 1980, she continued to reside on Central Avenue. She was frequently seen bicycling the streets near her home until she reached her 93rd birthday.

Mary is survived by her nephews, Barry (Breta) White and Norman (Pat) White and niece, Lois Mae (Paul) Walter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. "Bunk" Hockley; brothers Carl (Elizbeth), Charles (Marian), and Kenny (Anne) White; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Lewis Johnson.
