Melvin D. Gruber
Utica - A funeral service for Melvin D. Gruber, 54 of Utica, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Dave Jones officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at Utica United Methodist Church following the service.
Melvin died December 10, 2011 at his residence. He was born August 23, 1957, in Mount Vernon to Bobby and Carolyn (Hogle) Gruber.
He was a graduate of Big Walnut High School. Melvin formerly worked for Central Ohio Plastics, Johnstown.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Barbara J. (Hicks) Gruber of Utica; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Desiree Gonteski, Jr. of Utica, Timothy and Gail Gonteski of West Ampton, NJ; daughters and sons-in-law, Crysta Gruber of Gahanna, Barbara and Randy Kidd of Newark, Nancy and Sebastian Borborema of Riverside, NJ; 21 grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Olga Gruber, Carl and Vicki Gruber all of Utica, Mike and Thelma Gruber of Martinsburg; sister, Theresa Gruber of Utica; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Kathryn Gruber and Debra LaRue.
