Homer - A funeral service for Neil Mason Beever, 83 of Homer, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 S. Main St. with Pastor Terry Holobaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.

Friends may call 2:00-6:00 p.m., Monday, January 20 at the church.

Neil died January 17, 2014 at Kobacker House, Columbus. He was born November 28, 1930, in Burlington Twp, Ohio to the late Robert F. and Mary Alice (Mason) Beever.

Neil was a 1948 graduate of Homer High School. He retired December 1, 1985 from Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation as an Area Manager after 37 years of employment. Neil was an active member of the Utica Presbyterian Church and a member of the Granville Vintage Voices.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jo Ann (Hosler) Beever of Homer, whom he married December 4, 1948; son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Deb Beever of Worthington; daughter, Kayla Campbell of Homer; grandchildren, Sara (Todd) Peterson, Casey (Maresa) Campbell, Marty (Rhian) Beever, Jonel Campbell, Jacob Beever and Katherine Beever; great-grandchildren, Emma and Maggie Peterson, Liam and Grayson Campbell, Brynn and Camrynn Beever, Payton Oswald; sisters-in-law, Mabel Beever of Homer, Jean Steele of Whitehall, Judy Bennington of Circleville.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, William Russell, Robert Eugene, Charles Clayton and Donald Richard Beever; brothers-in-law, John Steele and Roger Bennington.
