Neil F. Buxton
Newark: A funeral service for Neil F. Buxton, 72 of Newark, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 13, 2012 at Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ 1213 Dutch Lane, Newark with Rev. Scott Schieber and Rev. Ed Lopeman officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Methodist Cemetery.
Neil died February 8, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Center Newark. He was born February 1, 1940, in Licking County to the late Harry R. and Frances L. (Clayton) Buxton.
He was a member of Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ, Licking Lodge # 291 F.& A.M., Glenwood Chapter #303 O.E.S., Utica and Licking County Shrine Club, a 32nd Degree Mason, Land of Legend Tractor Club, AACA, VCCA. Very active in the Centerburg Oldtime Farming festival, past director of the Energy Co-op for 30 years. Neil was a mechanic for 49 years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 plus years, Phylllis A. (Prior) Buxton, brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Jane Buxton of Centerburg, sister-in-laws, Sue Harwell of Mt.Vernon, Sharon and (Bob)Kennedy of Waynesburg, PA., nephews, Rodney and Janet Buxton, Andy and Leslie Buxton, Greg and Julie Butler, Dave and Mary Beth Butler, Brian and Marcie Scoles, niece, Pam and Jeff Shafer. Special friends Ronnie and Sally Hatfield.
Friends may call at the Highwater Congregational United Church of Christ 1213 Dutch Lane, Newark , Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where Masonic Services will be held at 5:30 p.m.
