Norma Bovard Green Dillahunt was born, May 16, 1927, and she was married to the late Ohio State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Lowell W. Green from 1949 to 1974, and to the late Homer L. Dillahunt from 1983 to 2013.

Also preceding her in death, was her mother, Edna V. Bovard (1999) and William N. Bovard (1963) of Utica Ohio, and brother, Stuart (2006) and sister-in-law, Edith Bovard (2008) of Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

She leaves behind a daughter, Melissa Green Krygier (Upper Arlington, Oh) and son in law, James E. Krygier, and two grandsons, Andrew Green Krygier (Oakland, Ca) and his wife, Elise Jaffrezo, and Daniel Green Krygier (Upper Arlington, Oh). In addition, a niece, Cindy Munyan (Blacklick, Oh), and Gary (Cathy) Bovard, North Carolina, and a number of cousins and their families.

She was proud to be a high school mathematics teacher, but was particularly fond of teaching algebra to her students at Tippecanoe High School, Tipp City, Ohio (1970 to 1985), Wellston, Ohio High School (1967 -1969), Fremont Ross High School (1960-66) and Roseville, Ohio. She subscribed to the old teaching adage, "don't smile until Christmas," early in her career and was particularly fond of the students who aspired to excel…..and they were fond of her as evidenced by the many former students that stopped to see her long after they had been in her classroom…..two former students drove more than 100 miles to surprise her with a visit.

She was an active member in the Tipp City United Methodist Church (TCUMC) from 1970 until her health no longer permitted it. She was a member of the church's chancel choir during these years, and she particularly loved singing pieces from Handel's Messiah and other holiday cantatas. In addition, she volunteered as the wedding coordinator for the TCUMC for several years, and also volunteered as a money counter. She had many good friends at the TCUMC, many who gave her rides to see Homer when she could no longer drive.

She was the number one fan of the Kettering Banjo Society and several affiliated groups for which her husband Homer played banjo. She especially loved hearing him play at the Ohio State Fair and on the river boats during the Cincinnati Tall Stacks Festival.

She was a longtime fan of Ohio State University especially their basketball team, and was particularly proud that her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons received multiple degrees from there. She graduated with a degree in math education from OSU in 1949, and graduated from Utica High school in Utica, Oh in 1945.

A private family service will be held.
