Otto C. Teele

Utica - A funeral service for Otto C. Teele, 96 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2011 at Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 S. Main St. with Terry Holobaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Otto died April 18, 2011 at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was born March 17, 1915, in Rushville, Ohio to the late Percy V. and Tella B. (Combs) Teele.

Otto was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church, a former Elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a World War II Navy veteran involved in the landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Otto served on the Utica Police and Fire Department, Utica Village Council and was Council president and baliff. He received the appointment of Village Ambassador, which he considered quite an honor. Otto was a member of Licking Lodge 291 F. & A.M., a Shriner and member of Order of Eastern Star, State Patrol Auxiliary and Utica American Legion, Post 92. He was the owner/operator of Teele's Floor Covering, and was a member of Utica Merchants..

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Helen M. (McCammon) Teele of Utica; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Bline of Newark, Joan Mortine of Heath, Sheryl and Bill French; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Debbie Tulloss of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian (Curtis) Teele; brother, John Teele; sisters, Leota Gallagher and Marcille Teele.

Friends may call 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica where a Masonic Service will be held at 5:30 p.m.
