Patricia Jean Blacksten, 79 of Utica passed away on November 10, 2025 at her residence. She was born on May 26, 1946 in Newark, OH to the late Virgil H. and Idamae (Robertson) Vickers.

Pat graduated from Frazeysburg High School in 1964 and Ohio University in 1970. She taught 2nd grade at Homer for 30 years. After retiring she worked at the Homer Library. She was an active member of the Utica United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy and was an avid reader. On August 27, 1969 she married Larry Eugene Blacksten who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, Brad (Theresa) Blacksten and Brent Blacksten; grandchildren, Chase (Cierra) Blacksten, Zoe Blacksten, Ryan (Jordan) Combs; great-grandchildren, Maverick, Landon, Kennedy, Gatlin and Memphis; sisters, Peggy Earhart, Pam Vensil, Penny (Gregg) Marshall and Polly Priest; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Eugene Blacksten who passed May 19, 2022; and brothers-in-law, Paul Vensil, Randy Priest and John Earhart.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., Utica with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm.
