Patrick D. Magers

Utica - A funeral liturgy for Patrick D. Magers, 75 of Utica, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Church of the Nativity, 126 N. Main St., Utica with Reverend Stephen A. Metzger as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark.

Pat died February 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1937, in Newark to the late Ralph L. and Mary Margaret (Ohler) Magers.

Pat was a member of Church of the Nativity, Utica. He retired from Newark Air Force Base. Pat coached baseball and softball for many years and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, bird watching, painting and working on the computer.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Denis P. and Robbin Chavis Magers of Newark, Gerald T. and Angela K. Magers of St. Louisville, Shaun and Donna Magers, Brian A. and Kathy Magers, Timothy and Melinda Magers all of Newark, daughters and son-in-law, Dona and Don Dean of Newark, Mary M. Magers of Utica, brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Judy Magers of New Mexico, Mike and Roberta Magers of Newark, Terrance and Connie Magers of St. Louisville, Thomas and Sandy Magers of St. Louisville, sister, Kathleen Cottrell of Newark, sister-in-law, Paulette Magers of St. Louisville, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy L. Magers who passed away January 29, 2012, brother, Gerald Magers.
