Phyllis Alfrey

A graveside service for Phyllis Alfrey, 93 of Utica will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Bell Cemetery with Brother Jason Harding officiating.

Mrs. Alfrey passed away on October 6, 2020 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on May 14, 1927 in Delaware to the late Phillip Earl and Freda Pearl (Forrest) Nicholson.

Phyllis was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of God. She was a nurse at Utica Nursing Home for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Gayle (Mark) Layton; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, William (Mary) Nicholson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Alfrey; son, Darrel Allen Alfrey; and twin-sister, Lois Green.
