Randall "Randy" M. Pantz

Homer - Calling hours for Randall M. Pantz, 64 of Homer, will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010, 5-6 p.m. with the service at 6:00 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Hoover officiating.

Randy died March 14, 2010 at Ohio State University Hospitals, Columbus. He was born March 29, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Theodore L. and Evelyn V. (Hyson) Pantz.

Randy retired from CVI. He worked welding stainless steel for high-tech cryogenic equipment and made it look like high-tech jewelry. He had a mind like a sponge and he inherited from his dad an engineering viewpoint and a skill of quietly soaking up and not forgetting information of all kinds. Growing up he lived in Indiana, Louisianna, Florida and settled in Newark, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Barbara J. (Qualls) Pantz of Homer, daughter, Carla R. Stephens of Chilicothe, grandsons, Theodore "Teddy" Orvil Pantz Stephens of Homer, Timothy "T.J." James Stephens, Jr. of the home, brothers and sister-in-law, Dennis L. and Jo von Pontz of Lake Geneva, WI, Rodger Alan Pontz of Newport Richey, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Gail L. and Mike Duggins of Flagler Beach, FL; brothers-in-law, Jim (Qualls) and Lil Wilburn of Sebring, FL, Don and Linda Qualls of Mount Vernon; sisters-in-law, Wanda and Jack Grueser of Utica, Ruth and Ray "Larry" Walters of Mount Vernon; nieces and nephews, Pam (Ken) Chambers, Scott Qualls, Bob (Crystal) Qualls, Don (Chris) Grigsby, Steve (Kim) Grigsby, Teresa Jacks, Kelley (Larry) Williams, Teri Wilburn, Kenny Wilkerson, Dale Wilkerson, Debby Louis, Allen Wilkerson, Karen Puckett, Jimmy Wilburn and Sheila Scott.

He is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willard O. and Lillie Mae Qualls and son-in-law, Tim Stephens.

Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica is assisting the family with the arrangements.
