Richard "Rick" C. Cosner Newark - A funeral service for Richard "Rick" C. Cosner, 67 of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2015 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery. Family and friends may call 2-5 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Law-Baker Funeral Home. Mr. Cosner passed away June 24, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born December 20, 1947, in Mount Vernon to the late Richard J. and Marjorie B. (Speaks) Cosner. Rick was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He was a 1965 graduate of Utica High School where he played football. Rick worked on his parents dairy farm before working many years at the Newark Air Force Base and then relocating to Fort Benning Air Force Base in Georgia. He was on the Utica Fire Department Board, a member of UTK and Ohio State fan. He was an avid golfer and was in a league at Irish Hills and Raccoon Golf Courses. Rick was a member of Newark Eagles and Moose He is survived by his wife, Catherine J. (Ammon) Cosner of Newark; daugher, Lisa (John) Dietmeier of Reno, NV; granddaughter, Lauren Luttges ; step-daughter, Jonily (Ryan) Zupancic of Newark; step-grandchildren, Anden and Baylor Zupancic; brother, Don Cosner of Mount Vernon; sisters, Kelly Horne and Kerry (Jerry) Warthman both of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
