Utica - A funeral service for Rita G. Smith, 87 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.
Rita died January 5, 2013 at Autumn Care Center, Newark. She was born December 8, 1925, in Youngstown to the late Theodore and Ethel (Leyland) Mours.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Swick of Utica; four grandchildren, Mike Swick, Diana (Brad) Warner, Jason (Laura) Geiger and Jeremy Geiger; great-grandchildren, Shaeley Warner, Zachary, Wesley and Abby Geiger, Joshua and Nicholas Geiger; son-in-law, Dave Byers; sister and brother-in-law, Retta and Robert Hamilton of Mabank, TX.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Smith who passed away November 9, 2002; daughter, Debbie Byers who passed away July 21, 2008; son-in-law, Jack Swick who passed away June 2, 2012.
