Robert Thomas Berger

Robert Thomas Berger, 77, of Mount Vernon passed away on August 24, 2021 after a brief hospital stay.  He was born January 29, 1944 at Mercy Hospital to the late Kenneth and Reba (Chase) Berger.

Bob graduated from Homer High School and was a lifelong farmer.  With his father and brother, they milked Jersey cows until 2000.  Then they switched to Draft Ponies at his daughter's behest.  Bob loved farming, going to fairs, but most of all his family.  He especially loved that both his son and daughter (eventually) returned to the farm.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Stephanie) Crites, and son, Brett (Tom Bilcze) Berger all of Mt. Vernon, dear cousin Evelyn Staus of Minnesota, and special family friends Matt and Nikki Swift of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, and brother, Gail.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.  Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055.
