A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2017 at Northside Church of Christ, 4427 Marion Rd. NE, Newark where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Robert R. Martin, 84 of Utica passed away, Monday, January 8, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born September 29, 1933 in Mount Vernon to the late Jesse and Virginia (Meek) Martin.
Bob attended school in Martinsburg and Utica. He was a member of the National Guard in Mt. Vernon in 1950 and was a Navy Veteran serving from 1952-1956. Bob was a charter member of Utica Sertoma serving as Past President and Past District Governor. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #92 and VFW #9062 Utica and was Past Chairman of the Utica Homecoming. Bob was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #189.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rebecca S.(Skeese) Martin, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Penny Martin of Utica, three grandchildren, Heather (Rese) Jhordan, Alex (Holly) Martin and Austin (Stuart) Martin; three great-granddaughters, Joley and Marley Jhordan, and Paisley Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Martin; sister, Rosetta Jones; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Helen Skeese.
He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tom Skeese.
