A Celebration of Life for Rodney L. Hornsby, 69 of Utica, will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 S. Main St., Utica with Pastor Terry Holobaugh officiating.
Friends may call Saturday, January 5, 2019, 10:00 am-1:00 pm at the church.
Rodney passed away December 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born March 18, 1949, in Dayton to Lester G. and Dorothy J. (Francis) Hornsby .
Rod was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church and was at peace with the Lord. He was a graduate of the Ohio State University, a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam Era and worked for the City of Columbus as a Health Inspector. Rod loved the Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and deer hunter, loved rock n roll music, hanging out with his friends and he just loved life.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debra (Bennett) Hornsby; daughter, Jessica Lyn Hornsby; grandson, Tim Hornsby; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Hornsby, Kenneth and Betsy Hornsby; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Becky and Cliff Rodeniser, Jana and LeRoy Herd; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Anita Bennett; sisters-in-law, Pamela Annarino and Donna Hornsby.
