Rosie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the Selma Markowitz Inpatient Care Center at Licking Memorial Hospital. From her birth on April 12, 1936 she nourished her family with faith and love. She was born in South Charleston to Robert and Audra (Leach) Woosley and is the only daughter of 7 children. Rosie moved to Licking County in 1937 and attended Homer High School where she met the love of her life, Sidney Shipley. They were married shortly after graduation on August 14, 1953. Together they had 3 children, owned the Utica Feed Mill for a short time, and with the help of their son, Randy, built their farm and business, Shipley Swine Genetics. Rosie also was a cook at North Fork Schools for 12 years.
Rosie's greatest joy was spending time with her 9 grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved to provide meals for family and friends whom they welcomed into their home. As an active member of Highwater United Church of Christ she and Sidney were instrumental in starting the hog roasts that provided funding for the construction of the Legg Center.
She is survived by her three children, Randy and Sandi Shipley of Newark, Ronda and Tom Wolford of Newark, Rita and Kenny Shultz of Battle Ground, IN; grandchildren, Scott Wolford, Matt and Lacy Wolford, Bryan and Andrea Wolford, Josie and Rick Snyder, Jessica Wolford, Kyle Shultz and fiancé Taylor Wildrick, Jeff and Ashley Shultz, Anna Shultz; great grandchildren, Isabella, Bo, Allison, Mattilyn and Sophia Wolford, Jacey and Joslyn Snyder, Drew Wolford, Micah and Maverick Wolford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phil and Donna Shipley, Elaine Tulloss, Jane Woosley, and Jim Neal; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney, grandson, Jason, parents and six brothers; Bill, Dick, Jim, Tom, John and Joe Woosley.
