Rubie Garrison
December 28, 1930-December 15, 2019
Rubie Garrison, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2019 with her son by her side at Country View Nursing Home in Sunbury under the care of Mt. Carmel East Hospice. She was born on December 28, 1930 in Galia County to the late Frederick and Lorena (Harrison) Holbein.
Mrs. Garrison was a mother of four children, predeceased by her husband, Lee C. Garrison of Johnstown, oldest daughter, Alaria J. Burks of Delaware and oldest son, Charles S. Snowden of Utica. She is survived by youngest daughter, Carol and Don Graessle of N.C. and son, Don and Joy Snowden of Utica; eight siblings, Kay Gibbons, Randa (Greg) Lewis, Judy (Nevin) Oldfather, Shirley (Doug) Henning, Carol Gilkerson, Randall Erwin Jr., Barbara Price and Judy Shepherd; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Woody Holbein and Ronny Holbein.
Rubie worked for the Columbus Public School system as a Cafeteria Manager at various schools. She resided in Pinellas Park, FL from 1981-2009 and at that time came to live wither her youngest son and daughter-in-law.
She loved to read, play bingo, euchre and was an avid walker. She loved to walk around Freedom Park, Pinellas Park Florida. She was an animal lover, leaving behind her precious dog, Lea. She was blessed with over forty years of marriage and got to travel and had so many stories to share. Her favorite Christmas song was Silver Bells, which we will hold dear to our hearts.
She loved, she lived, she laughed and cried. Leaving us all with many fond memories I hope we can all share one day in Glory. If by chance I have a left anyone out, please accept my apologies. Pray for one another, love one another and to me that pretty well sums up life.
All these words, inspired by love. Certainly in Our Lord and Saviors precious name JESUS!!
