A funeral service for Ruth Schooler, 90 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 18, 2017 at Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 S. Main St. with Pastor Terry Holobaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call 2:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.

Ruth passed away September 9, 2017 at Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon. She was born January 31, 1927, in Colorado Springs, CO to the late Fred and Fay (Ellard) Jordan.

Ruth was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church, Sweet Adelines for 20 years and the Trudeau Guild.  She loved her family, reading, traveling and music.  Ruth retired from Knox Community Hospital and then worked part-time at Lonsinger Pharmacy, Utica.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Phil Gantt of Gambier, Kathy and Tom Butcher of Utica; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Maxine Schooler of Lewis Center; five grandchildren, Brian (Michelle) Perrine, Jason (Charlene) Butcher, Nathan (Stacey) Butcher, Shelley Schooler, Rebecca Schooler; six great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Brady Perrine, Brandon, Alex, Carson and Abby Butcher.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace H. Schooler who passed away March 28, 1989; grandson, Matthew Butcher; brother, Thomas Jordan; sisters, Ona Mae Jones, Doris Stewart and Lucille Lindt.
