Obituary

Sherrie Lynn Wheeler

Sherrie Lynn Wheeler, 60, of Utica, died at 1:33 AM, Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.  Sherrie Lynn Wheeler was born October 14, 1960, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to Fred and Shirley Etler.  She married Gary Wheeler on July 10, 1989, and he survives.

Also surviving are her mother Shirley Etler of Utica, three children, Justin {Raven} Etler of Utica, Laura {Steven} McVicker of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Matthew Wheeler of Utica;  three granddaughters Gemini, Michelle, and Renae; five grandsons, Jake, Julius, Josiah, Jayhue and Justin; one sister Jeannie {David} Ryan; two nephews, B.J. Ryan of Utica and Billy Etler of Mount Vernon, and one niece Christina Robey of Utica.

Preceded in death are her father Fred Etler of Utica and her brother Danny Etler of Utica.

Sherrie Wheeler was a long-time resident of Utica where she graduated.  She went to New England College where she majored in home health care nursing management.  She worked at Meijer for fifteen plus years.

Despite all her health problems Sherrie was always trying to help others.  She loved her grandchildren more than anything.  She loved doing crafts, painting, cooking, and baking with her grandchildren.

Sherrie was a mother and a father to her son Justin.  But she was more than that.  They were the best of friends.  A true living Bonnie and Clyde.  Both stood by one another through everything.  Justin had been taking care of his mother and stepfather over the last eleven years.  Something that meant everything to Sherrie.  She trusted Justin with everything she had and loved her children Laura, Matthew, and Justin more than she loved life.  As well as all her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in memory of Sherrie at 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 9, 2021, at Utica Baptist Temple by Pastor Jeff Fry {Pastor Bo}. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
