A funeral service for Stanley E. Smoots, 91, of Utica will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Stanley passed away on February 28, 2023 at his residence. He was born on June 7, 1931 in Utica to the late Stanley M. and Lucy J. (Hauger) Smoots.

Stanley graduated from Utica High School in 1949. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a member of the American Legion Post 92. He retired from Walker Manufacturing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dixie (Bell) Smoots; sons, Stanley K. Smoots and Michael E. Smoots; daughter, Laura L. Smoots; sister, Francis Squires; brother, Raymond Smoots; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Opal Weaver and Christine Earlewine; and brother, George Smoots.
