Steven Allen Gantt, 71 of Newark passed away on March 2, 2026 at the Laurels of Mt. Vernon. He was born on October 2, 1954 in Newark, OH to the late Raymond E. and Virginia J. (Warthen) Gantt.

He is survived by his siblings, Phillip (Janet) Gantt of Gambier, David (Laura) Gantt of Granville and Brenda Parrill of Utica; granddaughters, Anna Barndollar, Breonna Barndollar, Alyvia Jacobs-Barndollar and Addison Barndollar; nieces, Jennifer (David) Adams of Westerville and Carrie (Shane) Bush of Columbus; great-niece and nephew, Juniper and Max; uncles, Vaughn (Georgena) Gantt of Memphis, TN and Douglas (Deb) Warthen of Newark; aunts, Nancy (Stevens) Banks of Tavares, FL and Kathy (Warthen) Thomas of Springfield; cousins, Mike Simmons of Centerburg and Bruce (Barb) Warthen of Pataskala; and several cousins in New York, Texas and Mississippi.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Katrina Marie (Barndollar) Gantt; and brother-in-law, Jerald Parrill.
