Steven Walter Meier, 86, of Utica, died peacefully in his sleep after a long struggle with Dementia and Alzhiemers, Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community in Dayton, OH. He was born July 24, 1937, in Columbus, OH to the late Walter Valentino Meier and Betty Lou (Stevens) Loney.

Steven served his country in the Marine Corps. He was a dedicated and driven man who took pride in working hard and providing for his family. He was a true Patriot and loved his country. He was a proud father, grandfather, a devout Catholic and Biblical Scholar.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hadley; son, Kristen Karl Meier and wife, Caroline; grandchildren, Justin Ruh and Marcus Sprout; brothers, Gary Meier, Walter Meier, and Robert Loney; nephews, Shane Meier, Conrad Loney, Cooper Loney; and beloved niece, Lisa Meier.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra; daughters, Nancy Weeks and Kymberly Loney; son, Steven Loney Jr.; and granddaughter, Martinique Terry.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Steven to Knox County Veterans Services.

A graveside service for the family will be held and a celebration of life will be held in the fall at a date to be determined.
