Timothy G. Shipley

February 26, 1957 – January 3, 2019

A funeral service for Timothy G. Shipley, 61, of Newark will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Highwater Congregational UCC, 1213 Dutch Lane Rd., Newark with Rev. Scott Schieber officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery, Utica.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Highwater Congregational UCC.

Tim passed away on January 3, 2019 at Grant Medical Center. He was born on February 26, 1957 in Mt. Vernon to Philip and Donna (Stickle) Shipley.

Tim was a lifelong dairy farmer who loved working on the farm with his family. He loved his grandchildren Charlie, Kody, Jake and Emma dearly. He was a friend to all and everyone knew him for his calm demeanor, patience, love of family and willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. He impacted people's lives by setting an example of how to work and how to treat others. He was a mentor and friend to all.

Tim was a member of Highwater Congregational UCC. He was co-owner of Shipley Farms and Evolution Ag. He was a 4-H advisor for 30 years in the Licking County Jersey Club, Licking County Dairy Director and Milk Sanitation Board Member. He also served as a board member of DHI, Ohio Dairy Producers, American Dairy Association, COBA Board and was active in the Licking County Agrarian Club.

He is survived by his best friend and wife, Janine Clement Shipley; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Brad Atherton of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Ashley Shipley of Newark; four grandchildren, Charlie and Kody Atherton and Jake and Emma Shipley; father and mother, Philip and Donna Shipley of Newark; brother and sister-in-law, David and Melanie Shipley of Newark; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
