Vallas Blankenship
May 26, 1940-January 24, 2018

Vallas Blankenship, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Utica Care Center, a caring and loving nursing home in Utica, Ohio.

He was born to the late Ed and Vada (Hayes) Blankenship in Phelps, Kentucky and was the youngest of three children.

Vallas will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Brenda Martinez and Valerie Faehnle and son Larry Jeff Blankenship, and grandchildren Bradley Blankenship, Brandy Venegas, Brittany Stump, Justin Baptist, Andrew Blankenship, Amalia Blankenship, and Charles Blankenship.

As a young man Vallas worked as a coal miner in Kentucky and later moved to Ohio where he built a house for his family.  Vallas spent his later years in Riverview, Florida where he ran a lawn business and worked as a security guard for TECO Electric.

Vallas was preceded in death by his sisters, Clarice Boggs and Neti Blankenship.

His family will be holding a small private service.
