A funeral service for Virginia E. "Ginny" Rupperburg, 85 of Newark will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the funeral home.
Ginny passed away April 30, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Center, Newark. She was born in West Lafayette, Ohio to the late Earl R. and Orabelle (Hobbs) Marquand.
Ginny was a retired teacher's aide from E. S. Weiant Starlight School, an assistant cheerleader adviser and a bus driver. She was a former member of Eastern Star in Millersport, past president and vice president of Newcomerstown Senior Citizens. Ginny was a mother adviser for Millersport and Thornville Rainbow Girls and TOPS Ohio 1378, Newcomerstown.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald J. and Patricia Ruppersburg of Wellsville; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Rod Booth of Utica; grandchildren, Aimee (Eric) Johnson, Ronald J. (Melanie) Ruppersburg, Ryan S. (Kelly) Ruppersburg, Nick (Nicole) Booth and Jackie (Todd) Bennett; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; niece Shawna West of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, Mike (Lynne) Benninghoff of Newark; grand-nieces, Lori (Eric) Tatum and Jodi Benninghoff.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Ruppersburg and daughter, Pamela Sue Ruppersburg.
