Walter Junior Coss

A funeral service for Walter Junior Coss, 88 of Utica, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 S. Main St. with Terry Holobaugh and Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 29 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.

Mr. Coss died January 26, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 30, 1926, in Fredonia to the late Walter Vernon and Dolly Pearl (Weekley) Coss.

Junior was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church where he was a custodian. He graduated from Homer High School in 1944 and was a World War II Army Veteran and served as a Medic. He worked at the Miller Co. and retired from Holophane.

Junior was a member of the American Legion Post 92, a 4-H Advisor and belonged to the roundtable group at the Pioneer Restaurant.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda L. (William "Skip") Bevard of Martinsburg, Karen Ramsey (friend, Tom Goldsberry) of Utica, six grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Daniel and Michael Bevard all of Martinsburg, Crystal (Adam) Price of Macedonia, Tasha Ramsey (friend Daniel Huber) of Lexington, KY, close friends, Ella and Nelson Blue of Utica.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Coss on November 10, 2008 whom he married September 9, 1951; daughter, Beverly Sue Coss, sister, Edith Dustin, brothers, Earl and Paul Coss; son-in-law, Terry Ramsey.
