Wayne Leon Plott, 82 of Wellston passed away on February 9, 2026 at Edgewood Nursing Home in Wellston. He was born on August 25, 1943 to the late Anthony and Marie J. (Harper) Plott, Jr. at home outside of Croton and Appleton Ohio.

Wayne had 6 brothers; Anthony "Sonny" III, Richard, Kenneth, Larry, Roger and Garry, now all deceased; 4 sisters, Janet Foust (Randy), Janice Smith (deceased), Marie Evelyn Holt and Kathleen Lines (Ralph).

His first marriage was to Carol Morgan of Whitehall, now deceased. They had two children, Wayne Jr. (Denise) and Marceil Vance.

He married Margo Hull and they had three children, Sharlene Bails (Steve), Dwayne Plott (Chasity) and Darlene Mohler (Sean).

Wayne worked hard building 3 or 4 homes and 2 cabins in New Plymouth, OH. He built Margo and his family a home on 160 acres in Vinton County where Margo now resides.

He worked in Heath at Walker for many years. He also did side jobs for Pam Parkinson and family, fixing and remodeling their properties.

Wayne loved his family and grandchildren very much. He loved Hocking Hills and was proud of the cabins he built. He also loved his cars, all convertibles and some Jeeps.

In 2019 and 2020, he got an apartment in McArthur, OH for 4 years. Finally ended up going to Edgewood Manor for 2 ½ years, where he passed away on February 9, 2026.

He loved going out to Lake Alma with Judy and Marci, enjoying the water, ducks, sunshine and Dairy Queens banana splits. His children came and took him to dinner and car rides. Wayne loved working on cars with his sons-in-law, Steve and Sean, plus grandsons.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends and preceded in death by son-in-law, Jack Vance and grandson, Wayne Allen Boyer.

The family will receive friends from 11-1pm on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica where the funeral service will be held at 1pm with Pastor Jason Martin. Burial will follow at Bennington Chapel Cemetery.
