A graveside service for William O. Hoskins, 87 of Utica, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Homer Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Fullen officiating.

William passed away September 18, 2017 at his daughter's residence. He was born January 24, 1930 in Hamilton to the late William and Margaret S. (Rector) Hoskins.

He was a Korean War Army Veteran. William was employed by Cooper Energy Service and was a member of Masonic Lodge #9, Mount Vernon.

He is survived by his children, Charles W. (Linda) Hoskins and Mary M. (John) McMurtry; step-daughter, Birdie Green King Woosley; grandchildren, April (Vince) Thompson Rike, Christa Thompson Sturgeon, Joshua (Tysha) Hoskins, Nicholas Hoskins, Lynette King, Lonny King, Joey Woosley and Shawn Sergent; great-grandchildren, Jordan Collins, Gunner Hoskins, Victoria Hoskins, Donald (DJ) King and Logan King; step-grandchildren, Jessica Currier, Andrew, Katelyn, and Joshua McMurtry; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Cassetta; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette M. (Dunlap) Hoskins who passed away February 16, 2013; brothers, Paul F., Edward and Howard Hoskins; sisters, Mamie O'Delle, Eva Norris and JoAnn Griffin.
