A funeral service for William "Bill" W. Thompson, 78 of Johnstown, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Croton Church of Christ, 40 S. Main St. with Dan Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Johnstown.

Friends may call 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2017 at Croton Church of Christ.

Mr. Thompson passed away September 11, 2017 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, Westerville. He was born November 25, 1938, in Columbus to the late Paul and Cornelia L. (Ammerman) Thompson.

Bill was a member of Croton Church of Christ and former elder and teacher. He was a Lieutenant with the Columbus Fire Department and retired after 33 years of service. Bill enjoyed golfing and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol L. (Santo) Thompson; children, Jeff and Debbie Thompson, Eric Thompson, Alan and Shelli Thompson, Koren and Tom Woodbury; seven grandchildren, Sam, Katie, Kealeigh, Alexis, Ava, Liam and Scarlett; special friends, Duane, Tracy and Austin Graven.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215 or a charity of the donor's choice.
